Patriots’ Tom Brady Lists $39.5M Boston Home

Tom Brady has made a career passing footballs to his teammates, but now it looks like he is trying to pass his Boston home onto someone. Last month The New England Patriots’ quarterback and 6-time Super Bowl winner and his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen listed their sprawling mansion in Brookline, Massachusetts on the market for a modest $39.5M

Fully aware of the home’s steep price, Brady said during an interview with WEEI, a local sports radio station that he does not expect to sell the home fast. “It takes a long time to sell a house. I don’t know if you guys know, my house is a little bit of an expensive one, so it doesn’t fly off the shelves in a couple of weeks,” Brady said.

The 5-bedroom, 12,000 square foot home sits on 5 acres and neighbor’s ‘The Country Club’ golf course. The two applied to become members of the club back in 2015 but the process was delayed for 2 years as voting members worried they were too high profile to join. Their application was approved in 2017.

In addition to being located next to the oldest country club in the nation, the house itself is accoutured with a 3-stall garage and a circle driveway containing a 20 car motor court where the 4-time Super Bowl MVP can flex his custom designed Aston Martin.

Brady and Bundchen built the home back in 2015 right next door to Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft. In addition to property itself, the house also has a 2,400 square foot guest house with a rustic barn-theme design that includes a yoga studio, a full bathroom, and a sleeping loft. Along with that, the 5 acre property also has an organic vegetable garden, perfect for keeping up with Brady’s organic centered, plant based diet known as the TB12 Method

In 2013 the two bought the original home from Pine Manor College for $4.5M. They then custom built their own home on top of the old. The estate was designed by architect Richard Landry, described by the New York Times as “the king of the megamansion.” Landry also designed Brady and Bundchen’s 18,000+ square foot home in Brentwood California that the two sold in 2014 for $40M to rapper and producer Dr. Dre. Landry has previously designed homes for the likes of Wayne Gretsky, Mark Wahlberg, and Michael Jackson, Rod Steward, and other celebrity homes.

Inside the main house includes a wine room, a spa, gym, a large rec room, a library, and a sunroom. The upstairs master suite includes ‘his and hers’ walk-in closets. As parents, they also included a large nursery next to the staff quarters, yes they have staff quarters as well. In addition to the vegetable garden, the first floor hosts a chef’s kitchen for their personal chef Allen Campbell. According to Realtor.com, the property offers, “views of plush landscaping that offer privacy and serenity.” The backyard features a lavish pool and patio area.

Thus far there is nothing symbolic about the listing. During the radio interview with WEEI, Brady told fans, “You shouldn’t read into anything.” Brady just recently extended his contract with the Patriots through the 2021 season for up to $70M. According to Yahoo Sports, Brady also reportedly offered his home to the newest Patriot’s add on, wide receiver Antonio Brown who will be moving from Oakland to Foxborough.

Brady also has a bit of a habit of relocating his family. In 2012 Brady and Bundchen moved from Back Bay to Brentwood before moving again in 2014. Recently they’ve moved a couple times within New York, the latest to a $25M 5,000 square foot apartment in Tribeca. The two are reportedly house shopping in Greenwich, Connecticut and Alpine, New Jersey per the New York Post.
